Simply put, if you don’t have a plan in place for what happens, the government has one for you. And personally, I know very few people who want the government in control of their life while alive, yet so many fail to plan at all for what happens should they become incapacitated or die. This allows the government to step in with their plan and take control. This cost the family unnecessary money and time to be spent. Not having a plan in place often breeds discord and dysfunction causing families to be torn apart because there is no direction and those remaining have different ideas and plans for what they think should be done. Take the time and get your legal and estate planning matters in order.
